BMW 1 Series Coupé set to hit Oz early 2008

The new BMW 1 Series Coupé is set to hit Australian shores early 2008. The new coupé is based on the successful BMW 1 Series and is said to feature BMW's award-winning Twin Turbo petrol engine as well as rear-wheel drive handling and, I quote, "muscular design".
The BMW 135i Coupé is powered by BMW’s 3.0-litre straight-six featuring Twin Turbo technology, all-aluminium crankcase and second-generation direct petrol injection featuring High Precision Injection technology.

Maximum output of 225 kW and torque of 400 Nm allow the BMW 135i Coupé to accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.
For a car that has the performance capable of leaving a lot of V8's in the shade, the 135i boasts surprisingly good fuel consumption figures. In fact, BMW tout that the 135i Coupé is the most fuel efficient car in its class, with average fuel consumption figure at 9.2 litres premium/100 kilometres.
The BMW 135i Coupé will also feature stability control, 18-inch light-alloy wheels and comes standard with M Sports Suspension and a high-performance brake system incorporating six-piston fixed callipers on the front axle and two-piston fixed callipers at the rear.
Exact pricing and specification data will be available closer to the launch date so keep an eye out.
