Mitsubishi Galant Fortis released in Japan
Aug 24th, 2007 by Motor Dude
Mitsubishi Motors have announced the release of the Galant Fortis, a 2.0 litre two or four wheel drive sedan. The Mitsubishi Galant Fortis is the first model to employ the "new face" front visage that establishes the design identity of Mitsubishi Motors sedans to be introduced in future.
Whilst the Fortis is currently available in Japan only, it is being trumpeted as achieving a global standard. The Fortis is the first new sedan introduced by Mitsubishi in Japan in seven years.

I'm not sure whether or not the Galant will make it's way to Australia, but if it did it would potentially set a new standard for safety for Mitsubishi in Australia. The Fortis features a range of active and passive safety features and includes a 7 airbag SRS system.

Styling wise the Fortis does not seem quite as aggressive as the Lancer due in 2008. In my opinion it carries quite a few similarities with the CE Lancer of 5-6 years ago, the headlights in particular.

My previous car was a Mitsubishi Galant and while it wasn’t a flashy car, it was one of my most reliable cars and lasted me quite a long time. It was retired with about 160,000 miles.
A lot of the Lancers are like that in Oz. They go and go and go…
Great first cars in many respects.
