Mitsubishi to unleash Concept-RA at 2008 Detroit Motor Show

Mitsubishi Motors have announced that they will premiere the Mitsubishi Concept-RA at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (Detroit Motor Show). It's the latest in a long line of good looking concept cars developed by Mitsubishi.
The Mitsubishi Concept-RA is touted as being a fusion of dynamic performance and environmental sensitivity that to it high performance diesel powered engine. The Concept-RA is set to prove that high performance and environmental responsibility no longer need to be mutually exclusive.

The Mitsubishi Concept-RA is powered by a low-emissions 2.2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve turbodiesel engine with MIVEC continuously variable valve lift and timing control. Coupled with a piezoelectric injector common-rail direct fuel injection system that allows for a lower compression ratio, the clean diesel, turbo powered engine delivers a maximum output of 150 kW and maximum torque of 420 Nm.

The Concept-RA will feature a new body structure that is both crash worthy and light thanks to an aluminium space frame, as well as an engine hood, fenders and additional outer panels made from high impact-resistant, recyclable plastics.The Detroit Motor Show opens to the public on the 19 January 2008.

I thought of the same thing GoodCheer, since the Mitsubishi Outlander is also sold as a Peugeot and Citroen model in Europe and equipped with the Ford-PSA Duratorq 2.2L engine, it’s more then a coincidence. I wonder if the 2.2L Duratorq under the hood of the Concept-RA?
The car looks fantastic. It needs to measure up on that one most important parameter - mileage.
