New generation Subaru Impreza WRX goes from hero to zero
Jul 30th, 2007 by Motor Dude
Subaru has released the first official images of its Australian spec new generation Impreza WRX. If you've seen the various other pictures that have found their way onto the internet then the "official" images wont come as much surprise.
Based on looks alone the Subaru Impreza WRX has gone from hero to zero in record time. Visually the design has attained the super bland label once reserved for the likes of the Toyota Camry or Avalon. I'm not exactly sure what sort of look Subaru were going for with the new Impreza WRX. The back end looks very similar to a BMW 1 series, whilst the front end is stereotypical Subaru. The two definitely do not belong together.

Let's just hope the its appearance is not an indication of its performance! No doubt the new look will not be enough to put off hard core Subaru purists, but this new look may be enough to drive a few more fence sitting customers to the Evo inspired Ralliart Lancer expected sometime in 2008.
Complete specifications for the All-Wheel Drive Impreza range will be released sometime in September, and will also go on sale in that month.
