Don't be surprised to see a very strong Volkswagen presence when the Bourne Ultimatum finally hits the cinemas.

The Touareg, fresh from it's jumbo pulling stunt, features heavily in the film, most notably in the climatic chase scene set in New York. The Touareg is driven by one of the films key protagonists, as he chases a stolen Police car through the streets of Manhattan.

The Volkswagen Golf GT also stars, along with Matt Damon and Julia Stiles, as the pair make their way from Madrid to Tangier.

“The involvement of these two Volkswagens in this elaborate and action packed production provides us ample opportunities to create innovative global marketing concepts,” says Jochen Sengpiehl, head of global marketing at Volkswagen.

The stunt team was said to have been impressed with the performance and features of the Touareg, in particular.

“This car is indestructible. We filmed crash scenes for three weeks, and the car kept going. This is one of the most incredible cars that I have ever driven,” said Graham Kelly, Action Vehicle Supervisor of the film.

The Bourne Ultimatum is the third film in the "Bourne" series, and is set to hit cinemas late August 2007.
